CEU: 0.1 | CEU Code: LI-EN-174701-0323

Architectural railing systems offer safety, durability, strength, and design flexibility for a variety of indoor and outdoor applications. This course provides an overview of the important factors that need to be considered when selecting and specifying a railing system for a commercial or residential building project. Topics include materials and finishes, fabrication and installation, and relevant building codes and standards.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify common railing materials and finishes and compare their performance in order to choose materials that best suit the structural requirements, style, and environment of the project.
  • Recognize the unique benefits of different railing materials with respect to durability and sustainability.
  • Distinguish between a variety of railing fabrication, assembly, and installation methods to ensure a safe and attractive railing design.
  • Discuss relevant building codes and standards related to the structural integrity and safety of a railing project.

Faculty BIO

Perry has spent the last 15 years at Lavi Industries working with architects, contractors, fabricators, and designers to specify and build premium railing systems for their building projects. His content includes instructional videos, assembly guides, white papers, and case studies that help take the mystery out of stainless steel and brass railing systems and components.
