Description of ASTM-C1494 2007ASTM C1494 - 01(2007)Standard Test Methods for Determination of Mass Fraction of Carbon, Nitrogen, and Oxygen in Silicon Nitride PowderActive Standard ASTM C1494 | Developed by Subcommittee: C28.03 Book of Standards Volume: 15.01 ASTM C14941. Scope 1.1 These test methods cover the determination of mass fraction % of carbon, nitrogen and oxygen in silicon nitride powder having chemical compositions within the following limits:
1.2 Two test methods appear in this standard. 1.2.1 Total Carbon by the Direct Combustion-Infrared Measurement Method. 1.2.2 Nitrogen and oxygen by the Inert Gas Fusion-Thermal Conductivity Measurement Method. 1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. Specific hazard statements are given in Section 6 .
