Description of ASTM-C1636 2013ASTM C1636 - 13Standard Guide for the Determination of Uranium-232 in Uranium HexafluorideActive Standard ASTM C1636 | Developed by Subcommittee: C26.05 Book of Standards Volume: 12.01 ASTM C1636Significance and Use 5.1 The method is applicable to the analysis of materials to demonstrate compliance with the specifications set forth in Specifications C787 and C996 . Some other specifications may be expressed in terms of mass of 232 U per mass of only 238 U (see ISO 218473 :2007). 1. Scope 1.1 This method covers the determination of 232 U in uranium hexafluoride by alpha spectrometry. 1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard. 1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and to determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
