Description of 21/30391471 DC 2021This International Standard specifies terms, definitions, symbols, principles, apparatus, test piece, test procedure, data processing, result evaluation, report and other content for the torsion test at high strain rates for metallic materials by using torsional split Hopkinson bar. This International Standard is applicable to the determination of mechanical properties of metallic materials at room temperature within the strain rate range from 102s−1to 104s−1, which are applied for the investigation of high strain rate problems such as vehicle collision, high speed forming and cutting based on finite element analysis in automotive, mechanical manufacture and aviation industries, etc. This test method covers the shear strain-rate range above 102 s−1.
