Description of 21/30430056 DC 2021

This document specifies a method for determination of Cd in cereals. Rice, brown rice, wheat and maize by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GFAAS) after extraction with diluted nitric acid (HNO3). This method has been validated in 19 interlaboratory studies. The study was for the analysis of samples of brown rice flour, wheat flour and maize flour ranging from 0,039 to 0,414 mg/kg. The limit of quantification is 0,002 mg/kg. The method detection limit is dependent on the sample matrix as well as on the instrument.
