Description of BS 3101:1986 1986This British Standard specifies requirements for control and interlock circuits which are required to be intrinsically safe and which are primarily associated with the pilot contacts of flameproof restrained plugs and sockets for use in coal mines. Provision is made for the control circuit to operate in local or remote control. When a resistor proving system is provided the operational requirements are given in clause 6.
Specifies characteristics and operating conditions, to ensure that components of control units both local and remote from the supply and control unit are interchangeable. Provides for optional interlock circuits and resistor proving systems.
