Description of BS EN 12854:2003+A1:2010 20101.1 This European standard specifies the safety and hygiene requirements for the design and manufacture of beam mixers. Beam mixers are used in the catering industry for the preparation of mixture or emulsion, directly in the cooking pan, such as for: puree, mayonnaise, sauces, soups, compotes. This European Standard deals with the hazards which can arise during commissioning, operation, cleaning, removal of food blockages, feeding, changing the tools, maintenance and decommissioning of the machine. 1.2 This European standard does not apply to:
1.3 This European Standard deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations and events relevant to beam mixers, when they are used as intended and under conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer (see Clause 4). 1.4 This European standard does not deal with the vibration hazard. 1.5 This European Standard is not applicable to beam mixers which are manufactured before the date of its publication as EN.
