Description of PD 7501:2003 2003This Published Document gives guidance on KM and Culture. In particular it gives guidance on how to identify different types of cultures within organizations, their relationships to individuals and to the growth and utilization of individual and organizational knowledge and learning. It also gives guidance on managing change, within an organization, towards establishing a successful culture of KM. This Published Document is intended for employees, change managers, directors or anyone else involved in a programme of introducing and/or sustaining KM within an organization. The document is structured as a workbook rather than a textbook and is intended to encourage the reader to think about the issues raised before, during and after implementation of a programme of KM. Although this Published Document discusses various different management sciences (for example change management) it does so only, by way of example, to show how KM fits into the current framework of established management sciences. This Published Document is primarily oriented to KM and is not intended to cover other specialized management sciences. This workbook expands on the base provided by PAS 2001 by looking at the cultural issues that those wishing to develop and implement a KM programme would be well advised to consider.
